Multiple plaster moulds are created for slip casting in Setyawan’s studio. As they begin to lose details around 50 or 60 times of slip casting, he usually makes between 4 and 8 moulds of each shape. In a bigger installation, Setyawan could end up using 10 – 15 moulds for one shape.
