Our January Laurel goes to an Azerbaijani jeweller who creates delicate beachscapes for personal adornment.

✿ How did you learn to make jewellery?

I have a disability, I walk with crutches. Because of this, I learned to keep my body balanced, and the skill of keeping my body balanced is a delicate and sensitive task. That’s why I’m good at delicate and small tasks. I learned the technical side from YouTube.

✿ What do you especially like about the beach on the Caspian Sea?

Warm sand 🙂

✿ What interesting feedback have you received about your jewellery? –

A client from the United States emailed me. He said that I would first show your video to my daughter, and after my daughter watches the video and is fascinated, I will take the necklace out of my pocket and give it to her. I was very impressed with his presentation.

✿ Can you describe the area where you live and your work?

I live in Baku, Azerbaijan. I turned a corner of my rented house into a small workshop for myself and do handicrafts here. People in the area where I live are amazed by my lifestyle.
