Join us in the foothills of the Himalayas to learn its stories and support its crafts.

From the deep folds of the mountains of Himachal in the lower Himalayas, a woman weaves stories as she weaves baskets. She weaves stories of karma (destiny). These resonate through so many other stories, like King Lear’s question to his daughters. In whose hands does the karma of a daughter lie? The answer lies with the mountain goddesses and birds of the forest.

We invite you to a session of stories from the foothills of the Himalayas and a meeting with a woman weaver, Anuradha Chauhan from Himachal Pradesh, who handcrafts beautiful containers and objects with pine needles from her local forest. Our guide is LOkesh Ghai and the storyteller is Gauri Raje.
