I’m Akram from Tehran, Iran
I came to Australia by boat about three years ago. I was in detention for 6 months and now I live in Melbourne.
I had a talent as a child. When I was twenty years old I was interested in painting and started doing classes. I went to a professional art class for five years. After this, I stopped painting for ten years, got married and had children. I forgot a little of what I learnt and now I am starting to paint again. The MAFA workshop has been a good opportunity for me to start painting again. I enjoy painting and drawing very much.
My artwork does not have a specific meaning but I get a good feeling when I am painting and drawing.
